Christine Crist
Christine Crist has worked at Sonora Regional Medical Center for nearly 20 years, working mainly with Medicare patients in the Patient Billing Office. Christine knows that some patients have needs beyond their medical care. She remembers a patient who was having difficulty with insurance costs. Christine worked with the Medi-Cal office to help the patient become eligible, making her healthcare costs more manageable.
Christine also visited the patient at her home, mowed her lawn and brought firewood to make sure she could stay warm through the winter. For Christine, her job wasn’t done until she knew all of the patient’s needs were met, proving that loving service has no bounds. “Sometimes you don’t know where to begin and it’s heart-wrenching,” Christine says about helping the patients she serves. “We’re here to help lessen the burden and we’re good to our patients.”
