“What I love about my job is that as an OB nurse I become intimate with families, not only witnessing the birth of babies, but witnessing new parents and grandparents— brand new families,” says Terry Atencio, RN.Terry has worked at Sonora Regional Medical Center’s Birth Center for nearly 30 years. Her experience allows her to mentor other OB nurses who assist expectant mothers through labor and delivery. “It takes a team; we can’t do our jobs by ourselves or without each other,” Terry says. “It’s a great gift being part of this hospital.”
