Sonora Regional Medical Center Recognizes Volunteers at the Annual Recognition Luncheon

Sonora Regional Medical Center recognized its volunteers at their annual Volunteer Recognition Luncheon, held at the East Sonora Conference Center. The volunteers provide a multitude of services at the Medical Center, including fundraising through the Gift Shop and special events.

Their current goals are to raise funds for the Medical Center’s equipment, the Aquatic Therapy Pool campaign, continuing education scholarships and the Lifeline program. The volunteers presented the Medical Center with a check for $6,690.45 to purchase six STAXI Transport wheelchairs for the Surgery and Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) departments.

“Current volunteers include retired physicians, nurses, teachers and business professionals and many others representing a broad range of professionals in our community, including stay-at-home moms who are willing to share their expertise, experience and time. Utilizing these assets, we are able to expand our program and broaden our horizons,” said Karla Hoback, Volunteers’ president.

“We have an extraordinary group. We are a magnet for talents—bringing in lots of skills. Volunteering is a nice way to help family and friends,” said Martha Cover, Volunteers’ publicity chair.
