Sonora Regional Medical Center has named Andrew Jahn as vice president and chief financial officer, according to Jeff Eller, president and CEO. Jahn replaces Dave Larsen who was promoted to chief financial officer for the Adventist Health Central Valley Network.

Jahn will assume his new role beginning August 8, 2011, and will oversee several departments at the Medical Center including accounting, budget and reimbursement, materials management, patient financial services, information services and clinical engineering.

“I am excited to have a new CFO with Andrew Jahn’s caliber of experience,” said Eller. “He will continue our tradition of sound fiscal management while working to expand services and programs to meet the health care needs of our community.”

Jahn has been the director of finance for Shawnee Mission Medical Center, a 445-bed hospital in Kansas, serving the Johnson County and greater Kansas City area. At Shawnee Mission, Jahn’s responsibilities included serving as the fiscal officer for the Shawnee Mission Physician Group, a 65-physician group practice. His accomplishments include the development of a 75,000-square-foot outpatient facility as well as structuring and securing funding for several joint venture projects including an ambulatory surgery and endoscopy center, an oncology clinic, a pain medicine program and a $42 million women’s & children’s hospital tower.

Jahn also organized and launched Shawnee Mission’s first dedicated performance improvement department, leading to improvements in several areas of the hospital and boosting physician, patient and employee satisfaction. Previously Jahn has worked for the Florida Division of Adventist Health System and for Florida Hospital in Orlando, Fla.

Jahn received his Masters in Business Administration with Emphasis in Healthcare Administration from the University of Central Florida. He received his undergraduate degree in Finance and Accounting from Union College in Lincoln, NE.

“My family and I are looking forward to being part of the Sonora community” says Jahn. “I’m also excited about the opportunity to contribute to the Medical Center’s mission.” Jahn will relocate to Sonora with his wife Marlena and their three young sons.
