H1N1 Flu Information

During flu season, we ask that visitors to the Medical Center help prevent the spread of illness by following these measures:

  • Please limit visitors to immediate family and caregivers.
  • Do not visit patients if you are ill.
  • If you are visiting a patient in isolation, please follow the instructions on the door sign, or ask a staff member what is needed to enter the room. The CDC now requires that visitors to patients in isolation wear a mask.
  • Visitors must wash hands or use hand sanitizer before entering and before leaving the room.

If you are experiencing flu-like symptoms including but not limited to a fever, body aches, congestion, and/or cough, please call your personal health care provider or visit one of our Prompt Care locations at Indian Rock or on Forest Road across from the Fairgrounds.

At this time, Sonora Regional Medical Center has not received an allotment of the seasonal flu or H1N1 flu vaccine for the general public. Please contact your personal health care provider for information about receiving either vaccine.

If you would like more information about the H1N1 flu virus or “swine” flu, please call the Tuolumne County Information line at 209.533.6392. Other helpful resources include:
